Introduction
As part of its Family Strengthening Initiative (FSI), Messianic Family Center International Bangladesh (MFCI Bangladesh) has undertaken a livelihood-support program to help a vulnerable family establish a sustainable source of income through duck rearing.
Under this initiative, 100 matured ducks have been provided to a selected beneficiary family in Kandi, Kotalipara, Gopalganj. The ducks will remain under the care and management of the family for a period of three months.
Purpose of the Initiative
The primary objective of this initiative is to strengthen the economic capacity of the beneficiary family by providing productive livestock rather than short-term financial assistance. Through proper care and management of the ducks, the family will have an opportunity to generate income and improve their household livelihood.
The initiative also aims to:
- Create a sustainable income-generating opportunity for the family.
- Encourage self-reliance and responsible livestock management.
- Strengthen the family’s financial stability.
- Develop a practical model of community-based livelihood support.
- Extend MFCI Bangladesh’s mission of serving families through sustainable development initiatives.
Implementation and Profit Sharing
The beneficiary family will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, management, and supervision of the 100 matured ducks throughout the three-month period. MFCI Bangladesh will provide appropriate guidance and monitoring as required.
At the end of the three-month period, the net profit generated from the duck-rearing activity will be shared equally between MFCI Bangladesh and the beneficiary family:
50% – MFCI Bangladesh
50% – Beneficiary Family
This profit-sharing arrangement is intended to promote both organizational sustainability and the economic empowerment of the participating family.
Expected Impact
