Christian Youth Counselling Ministry

Organization: MFCI Bangladesh
Ministry: Christian Counselling Ministry
Location: Gopalganj, Bangladesh
Period: 18 April – 03 May 2026

Introduction
As part of the ministry of MFCI Bangladesh, a Christian counselling ministry was conducted among youth in Gopalganj, Bangladesh, from 18 April to 03 May 2026. The purpose of this ministry was to provide compassionate, Christ-centred counselling and spiritual encouragement to young people facing various personal, emotional, family, educational, and future-related challenges.

During this period, a significant number of young people were reached and counselled through individual conversations and ministry interactions. The counselling sessions provided a safe and supportive environment where youth could openly share their concerns, struggles, questions, and hopes for the future.

Objectives of the Ministry
The primary objectives of the Christian counselling ministry were:
• To listen to and understand the personal and emotional challenges faced by young people.
• To provide Biblically grounded guidance, encouragement, and hope.
• To help youth make responsible and positive decisions regarding their lives and future.
• To encourage healthy relationships within families and communities.
• To strengthen young people’s faith and understanding of God’s love and purpose for their lives.
• To identify youth who may require continued pastoral, spiritual, or counselling support.
• To encourage young people to develop positive attitudes, responsible behaviour, and a meaningful direction for their future.

Ministry Activities
Throughout the ministry period, counselling conversations were conducted with youth in Gopalganj. The counsellors focused on listening carefully to each individual’s situation and responding with compassion, confidentiality, prayer, and appropriate Christian guidance.

Common areas discussed during counselling included personal struggles, family relationships, education, career and future concerns, emotional difficulties, peer relationships, questions about faith, and challenges associated with growing into adulthood.
The ministry sought not only to address immediate concerns but also to help young people recognise their value and potential and to encourage them to seek God’s guidance in their decisions and relationships.

Impact and Observations
The counselling ministry provided an important opportunity to connect with young people and understand some of the challenges affecting their lives. Many youth appeared to value having someone who would listen to them without judgment and provide encouragement during difficult circumstances.

The ministry also demonstrated the importance of continued Christian counselling and mentoring among young people. Youth need ongoing encouragement, positive role models, spiritual guidance, and safe spaces where they can discuss their concerns and receive appropriate support.

Through these interactions, the counselling team was able to encourage youth toward hope, responsible choices, stronger family relationships, and a deeper relationship with God.

Christian Ministry Perspective
The ministry was carried out with the conviction that every young person is valuable and created by God. Christian counselling seeks to combine compassionate listening and appropriate counselling support with the hope, encouragement, and wisdom found in Scripture.

The counselling team encouraged the youth to seek God’s direction, develop healthy relationships, face their challenges with courage, and recognise that their circumstances do not determine their ultimate worth or future.

Conclusion
The Christian Youth Counselling Ministry conducted by MFCI Bangladesh in Gopalganj from 18 April to 03 May 2026 was a meaningful opportunity to serve and encourage young people.

The number of youth reached during this period demonstrates the continuing need for youth-focused Christian counselling and mentoring. We are grateful for the opportunity to listen to, encourage, and support these young people and to share with them the message of hope, love, and purpose found in Jesus Christ.

We recommend continued counselling, mentoring, prayer, and follow-up programmes for the youth of Gopalganj so that the relationships established during this ministry can develop into sustained support and discipleship
